A literature review reveals that most of the classification schemes for the service businesses that have been presented lack for an integrative perspective. Hence, the authors propose an integrative classification model called the "ICMSB", which attempts to integrate the diverse findings and theories about effective classification schemes. The main theoretical grounding in building the ICMSB is the concept of the "production-mix", which consists of 4 Ps' dimensions-Provider, Process, Patron, and Place. The. proposed model further generates 16 categories for the service business from a combination of 4 Ps. The integrating taxonomy builds on the strengths of earlier taxonomies while avoiding many. of their weaknesses. This paper, then, presents a model of classifying process, which is also based on the integrarative view, to concretize the ICMSB. Finally, the MTMM is used to validate the ICMSB, and the result shows that the reliability and validity of ICMSB is relatively higher than other schemes.
