Title
The Empirical Findings of Organizational Behavior in Taiwan: A 30-year Review of Taiwanese Management Journals
Author
Abstract
Organizational behavior is one of the major scientific foundations in the field of management. This study aimed to conduct a systematic review on the empirical studies of micro organizational behavior in domestic management journals in Taiwan. Study samples were 360 empirical articles of organizational behavior from 9 TSSCI journals which are in the 2014 recommended list of the management division by Ministry of Science and Technology. The researchers first referenced the division and interest group categories to obtain 36 topics and then combined them into 13 themes. We then arranged them in an order roughly in correspondence to the chapters and topics of organizational textbooks. We reviewed and assessed the articles and suggested possible future research directions. We believe that these studies offer a certain degree of incremental values on the exploitation of current organization behavior theories. We proposed two dimensions for assessing the domestic articles: the testing and modifications of the existing theories; the exploitations of innovative indigenous theories and concepts, and hope to provide references for the related scholars to further dampen organizational behavior research in the future. We urged that domestic management journals play the role of critical platforms for scholarly dialogs.
